Ocular Syphilis Misdiagnosed as Giant Cell Arteritis

Abstract
Syphilis is a disease caused by Treponema pallidum and results in variable systemic symptoms depending on the involved organ. Ocular syphilis can affect several parts of eye and presented as blurry vision, eye congestion but rarely headache and ocular pain which is commonly shown in giant cell arteritis. Here we report a case of a female with ocular syphilis who was misdiagnosed as giant cell arteritis initially.
